Crazy, Stupid, Love.

The film was directed by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, the duo behind I Love You Phillip Morris, with a screenplay by Dan Fogelman. Fogelman later went on to create the NBC television series This Is Us, and the film's interconnected storytelling style is characteristic of his writing.

The film weaves together multiple romantic narratives that converge unexpectedly, most notably when it's revealed that Jacob (Ryan Gosling) is dating Cal's (Steve Carell) daughter, Hannah.
