description Crested Gecko Overview
Crested Geckos (Correlophus ciliatus) are another excellent choice for beginners, known for their unique appearance and relatively simple care. They are arboreal, requiring a taller enclosure (18x18x24 inches is a good starting point) with plenty of foliage for climbing. They primarily eat a powdered gecko diet mixed with water, eliminating the need for live insects. They don't require UVB lighting, but benefit from low-level visible light.
They are generally docile and easy to handle, but can drop their tails when stressed. Expect a lifespan of 10-15 years.
