Is the Cuisinart DLC-3 really a 7-cup food processor?

No. The DLC-3 is the Mini-Prep Plus with a 3-cup work bowl; Cuisinart's larger DLC models are separate full-size processors. It is intended for small batches rather than slicing or shredding a family-size quantity.

What is the difference between Chop and Grind on the DLC-3?

The reversible SmartPower blade uses its sharp edge in Chop mode for softer foods and its blunt edge in Grind mode for harder ingredients. The motor changes direction depending on which control pad is pressed.

Can the Cuisinart DLC-3 slice or shred vegetables?

No. It has a chopping and grinding blade but no feed tube or slicing and shredding discs, so a full-size model such as the Cuisinart Custom 14 is needed for uniform slices.

Can the DLC-3 grind coffee beans or spices?
