He founded the Achaemenid Empire, which at its height stretched from modern-day Turkey to India. Known for his benevolent policies and religious tolerance, he is often referred to as the first great king of the world. His legacy includes the famous Cyrus Cylinder, a clay tablet that has become an important symbol in archaeology and history.
