description Dick Lane Velodrome Overview

Dick Lane Velodrome is an outdoor concrete cycling track in East Point, Georgia, near Atlanta. It was built in 1974 through a volunteer effort and is named for Dick Lane, a local cycling supporter. The facility was designed for track cycling, training, and organized racing, with steeply banked lanes intended for fixed-gear bicycles. Its regional importance comes from providing a dedicated velodrome in the southeastern United States, where purpose-built tracks are relatively uncommon.
