Drugstore Cowboy is a 1989 black comedy film set in 1971 Portland, Oregon, depicting a group of transient drug addicts. The story, adapted from James Fogle’s unpublished novel, was directed by Gus Van Sant and starred Matt Dillon. It marked Van Sant's second directorial effort following his debut feature, Mala Noche.
