Enzo Ferrari

Enzo Ferrari founded the Scuderia Ferrari Grand Prix racing team in 1929, initially as an independent team that prepared and raced Alfa Romeo vehicles. He did not begin building cars under his own name until 1939, when he established the company initially under the name Auto Avio Costruzioni.

The first car to carry the Ferrari name was the 125 S, introduced in 1947 and powered by a 1.5-liter V12 engine designed by Gioacchino Colombo. This vehicle marked Ferrari's transition from running other manufacturers' cars in competition to producing his own racing and road vehicles.

Enzo Ferrari was born in 1898 in Modena, Italy, and died in 1988 at the age of 90. He remained actively involved in the management of his company throughout his long life, overseeing Ferrari's growth from a small racing operation into one of the most iconic automotive and motorsport brands in history.

Scuderia Ferrari is the oldest and most successful team in Formula One history, having competed in every season since the world championship began in 1950. The team has won more constructors' championships than any other competitor, with its period of sustained dominance in the early 2000s driven by seven-time champion Michael Schumacher.
