Ergon GP1 Grips

The GP1 uses a wide wing shape to spread pressure across more of the palm instead of concentrating it near the ulnar nerve. That is why commuters and flat-bar touring riders often choose it for hand numbness on longer rides.

They are made for standard flat or riser handlebars, not drop bars. Ergon also sells different versions for grip-shift setups, so riders using twist shifters need to choose the matching GP1 variant.

The GP1 is commonly sold in Small and Large sizes to match hand size. The Large version has a bigger support platform, while Small is usually better for smaller hands or narrower bars.

They are especially popular for commuting, trekking, e-bikes, and touring because the ergonomic wing supports a steady hand position. Aggressive mountain bikers may prefer rounder grips because the GP1 wing can feel bulky during technical riding.
