Faith Bacon was an American burlesque performer active in Chicago during the early 1930s who is credited with originating the feather fan dance, a routine in which a performer manipulates large ostrich-feather fans to partially veil and reveal the body while dancing. Her fan dance performances in Chicago nightclubs preceded those of Sally Rand, who subsequently popularized the act to mass audiences at the 1933 Century of Progress Exposition in Chicago. Bacon continued performing in burlesque and carnival circuits through the 1930s and 1940s.
