As the first spin-off of The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead initially focused on the very beginning of the outbreak in Los Angeles. Over time, it evolved into its own unique beast, exploring different regions and survival philosophies. While its quality fluctuated significantly over its eight-season run, it offered some of the most interesting character studies in the franchise. It is a solid companion piece to the original show, providing a different perspective on the collapse of society and the struggle to rebuild in a world filled with the dead.
