Felin Isaf Watermill

Felin Isaf is a historic mill site on Anglesey in Wales. The nearby Melin y Bont, also called Melin Isaf, is associated with both water-powered and wind-powered machinery.

The mill used a water wheel and, unusually, wind sails connected to the same central shaft. Clutches allowed the miller to choose which power source drove the millstones.

A watermill stood at the site in medieval times, and it appears on a 1726 map of the Bodorgan estate. The preserved machinery reflects the agricultural milling traditions of Anglesey rather than modern industrial production.

It combined wind and water power in one building, a rare arrangement on the island. The machinery also powered equipment in nearby buildings through belts and connected rods.
