description FORMOSAT-5 Overview

FORMOSAT-5 is an Earth-observation satellite developed and operated by Taiwan's National Space Organization, known as NSPO. Launched in 2017 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9, it was Taiwan's first remote-sensing satellite developed domestically. Its optical payload provides panchromatic imagery with a stated resolution of about two metres, making the spacecraft useful for mapping, environmental observation, and other civilian remote-sensing applications.
