Fort Myer is a historic United States Army post in Arlington, Virginia, adjoining Arlington National Cemetery and overlooking Washington, D.C. It is associated with the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, known as The Old Guard, which performs ceremonial duties and provides military honors in the capital region. Fort Myer is now part of Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, created by consolidating it administratively with nearby military installations.
