Colin Farrell plays the seductive and deadly vampire, Jerry Dandrige. Anton Yelchin stars as the protagonist, Charley Brewster, who tries to convince people that Jerry is a killer. Farrell's highly aggressive and charismatic performance is widely regarded as the highlight of the film.

In the 2011 version, Peter Vincent is reimagined as a Criss Angel-style Las Vegas illusionist rather than a late-night horror movie host. He is played by David Tennant, who was famously known for playing the Doctor in Doctor Who at the time.
