Company Flow consisted of rapper and producer El-P, rapper Bigg Jus, and producer/DJ Mr. Len. Their collaboration on this 1997 debut resulted in one of the most abrasive and uncompromising records in underground hip-hop history.

The album was released on the independent label Rawkus Records, which was instrumental in the late 90s underground hip-hop movement. Rawkus used the success of this album to establish itself as a powerhouse for independent, lyrically-focused rap music.
