ATC means All-Terrain Case, not Automatic Theft Control. The case protects the removable G-DRIVE ev RaW disk from water, pressure, shock, and dust while it is closed.
How much storage does the G-DRIVE ev ATC provide?
The commonly sold G-DRIVE ev ATC used a 1TB removable hard drive, not an 8TB disk. It spins at 7,200 RPM and was rated for transfer speeds up to about 136MB/s.
Can the drive be removed from the all-terrain enclosure?
Yes. The internal G-DRIVE ev RaW USB drive slides out and can be used separately or inserted into compatible G-Technology Evolution Series docks.
Does the G-DRIVE ev ATC use USB-C or Thunderbolt 3?
