Gang Tapes

description Gang Tapes Overview

Gang Tapes is a 2001 American crime film directed by Adam Ripp. It uses a found-footage structure in which a stolen camcorder records the lives and activities of young people involved with gangs in South Central Los Angeles. The handheld recordings give the film a documentary-like appearance while the narrative remains fictional. Its subject matter places it within the crime and urban-drama traditions of early-2000s American independent cinema.
