Ghost Bolete

description Ghost Bolete Overview

Buchwaldoboletus lignicola is a species of bolete fungus in the family Boletaceae, also known as the wood bolete. Unlike most boletes, which grow from soil in association with plant roots, it is saprotrophic and fruits on decaying wood, especially conifer debris; its wood-inhabiting habit is a defining feature of the species.
