description Heart Route Overview
Heart Route is a big-wall climbing route on the southwest face of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, California. It was established in 1964 by climber Frank Sacherer and is associated with aid climbing, in which climbers use equipment to support progress on sections that cannot be climbed entirely with hands and feet. The route is a named line within the technical climbing history of Yosemite.
