help Hell Girl: Three Vessels FAQ

Who is the main human protagonist in Hell Girl: Three Vessels?

The main protagonist of the third season is Yuzuki Mikage, a normal schoolgirl who lives in the city of Yotsuki. Unlike previous seasons where the focus was on the people accessing the Hell Correspondence website, Yuzuki is a fixed central character. She gradually becomes entangled in Ai Enma's cursed duties as the Hell Girl.

What happens to Ai Enma in the third season?

Following the events of the second season (Futakomori), Ai Enma has disappeared, and her former companions attempt to lead normal lives. However, the Hell Correspondence service is revived, forcing Ai to return to her role as the Hell Girl to ferry souls to damnation. She eventually takes Yuzuki Mikage on as a new companion and potential vessel.

What is the core rule of the Hell Correspondence website?

The core rule is that if someone accesses the website at exactly midnight and submits the name of their tormentor, Ai Enma will immediately ferry that person to Hell. However, the cost of this revenge is that the person making the request will also go to Hell when they die. A black straw doll with a red string is provided as the contract that seals the deal.

Who are Ai Enma's three companions who help her ferry souls?

Ai Enma is assisted by three former humans who act as her servants: Wanyuudou, Hone-Onna, and Ren Ichimoku. Wanyuudou often takes the form of an old man and a black carriage, Hone-Onna is a beautiful woman who uses illusions, and Ren Ichimoku can manifest an eye that sees through any object. They help Ai gather information on the victims before she enacts her revenge.
