description Hense Moor Overview

Hense Moor is a protected area of marshy pasture, heath, and bog in Devon, England, near Luppitt in the Blackdown Hills. It was designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest because it contains surviving habitats that have become scarce elsewhere in the Blackdown Hills. The site includes lowland mixed valley bog, wet heath, spring-fed mire, and species-rich plant communities, including sundews and orchids. It is relevant to study of Devon's heathland and wetland ecology.
