Heschung Crocus

The Crocus is a French-made leather derby with open lacing. It is built on Heschung's rubber Ravel sole, giving the formal upper a more practical everyday base.

Heschung produces its heritage footwear in Alsace, France. The company was founded in 1934 and originally developed shoes suited to the region's outdoor conditions.

Use a soft brush and a small amount of neutral or matching cream after testing it on a hidden area. Because aniline leather has little opaque surface coating, soaking it or applying heavy waterproofing products can visibly change its color.

Both can use the Ravel rubber sole, but the Catalpa is identified by details such as its stitched sole treatment and gusseted tongue. The Crocus presents a more conventional derby profile, so the two should be compared by last and upper pattern rather than sole name alone.
