help Himitsu Sentai Gorenger FAQ
Why is Himitsu Sentai Gorenger considered the first Super Sentai series?
Gorenger established the color-coded team of costumed heroes that became the foundation of Super Sentai. It premiered in 1975 and was created by manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori.
Who are the five original Gorengers?
The core team consists of Akarenger, Aorenger, Kirenger, Momorenger, and Midorenger. Their colors are red, blue, yellow, pink, and green, a combination that influenced many later Sentai teams.
Why were there two actors playing Kirenger?
Baku Hatakeyama originally played Daita Oiwa, while Jiro Daruma later joined as Daigoro Kumano and inherited the yellow suit. Daita subsequently returned, making Kirenger's replacement history unusual within the original team.
Is Gorenger directly connected to Power Rangers?
Gorenger belongs to the Super Sentai franchise, but its footage was never adapted into an American Power Rangers season. Power Rangers began much later by adapting Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, a 1992 Japanese series.
