The screenplay for "Hollywood Shuffle" was co-written by Robert Townsend and Keenen Ivory Wayans. The two comedians collaborated to infuse the script with sharp, subversive humor that exposed Hollywood's casual racism. Wayans also appears in the film in multiple acting roles.
