Hubei Provincial Museum

The two headline exhibits are the Sword of Goujian and the bronze bells from the tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng. Both are tied to ancient Chu and Warring States-era culture, which is central to the museum's identity in Wuhan.

The Zenghouyi bells are a large set of ancient bronze chime bells excavated from a tomb in Hubei. They are famous because they show an unusually advanced musical tuning system for their period.

Archaeology is the strongest draw, especially bronzes, lacquerware, and objects from the Zeng and Chu cultures. The museum was founded in 1953, and its reputation is built around finds from Hubei rather than a general world-history collection.
