Humble Pie - Rock On

Yes, Rock On, released in 1971 on A&M Records, was Humble Pie's final studio album to feature original guitarist and vocalist Peter Frampton. Frampton left the band that same year to pursue a solo career, which famously culminated in his 1976 multi-platinum live album Frampton Comes Alive!

Rock On was produced by Glyn Johns, the renowned British engineer and producer who also worked with the Rolling Stones, the Who, and Led Zeppelin. The album was recorded at Olympic Studios in London, a legendary recording facility used by many major acts of the era.

Rock On is the fourth studio album by Humble Pie, following As Safe as Yesterday Is (1969), Town and Country (1969), and their self-titled third album Humble Pie (1970). The band formed in 1969 and was fronted by Steve Marriott of Small Faces alongside Frampton.

After Frampton's departure following Rock On, guitarist Dave 'Clem' Clempson joined Humble Pie, and the band continued with a heavier blues-rock direction. Their next major release was the live album Performance Rockin' the Fillmore, also from 1971, which became one of their most commercially successful records.
