Idiosepius paradoxus

description Idiosepius paradoxus Overview

Idiosepius paradoxus is a small bobtail squid commonly known as the Japanese pygmy squid or northern pygmy squid. It occurs in shallow coastal waters of the western Pacific, including waters around Japan, and can attach itself to seagrass or other surfaces using a specialized adhesive gland on the dorsal side of its body. Its small size and unusual attachment behavior distinguish it from larger open-water squids.
