description Inside the NBA Overview
Basketball analysis shares space with teasing and spontaneous comedy on Inside the NBA, an American studio programme that began on TNT in 1989. Ernie Johnson Jr. anchors the familiar panel alongside former players Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Shaquille O'Neal. Their contrasting personalities make the conversation a central part of the programme, rather than simply a framework for highlights and game summaries.
The show has received multiple Sports Emmy Awards and is associated with NBA regular-season and playoff coverage. Beginning with the 2025-26 season, it moved to ESPN and ABC while continuing to be produced by TNT Sports. That distinction separates its production identity from its broadcast home. It suits basketball followers who enjoy informed discussion delivered with a loose, comic tone, including exchanges that move beyond the immediate result of a game.
