Invincible Shaolin

The film was directed by Chang Cheh for the Shaw Brothers Studio. It was released in 1978 during the peak of the studio's classic kung fu cinema output.

The plot centers around a fierce and deadly rivalry between the Northern Shaolin and Southern Shaolin schools. The Manchus exploit this rivalry, tricking the two factions into fighting each other so they can conquer them both.

The movie features several stars from the famous Venom Mob, most notably Philip Kwok and Lu Feng. Lu Feng plays the primary antagonist, who uses his acrobatic kung fu skills to instigate the war between the schools.

The film features a somewhat abrupt ending where the Northern and Southern disciples finally realize they have been manipulated by the Manchus. They join forces in the final moments to fight the main villain, leaving audiences with a dramatic cliffhanger finish.
