Jacksepticeye

Jacksepticeye's real name is Seán William McLoughlin. He is an Irish content creator who rose to massive prominence on YouTube with his high-energy gaming commentary. He launched his channel in 2012 but had a massive breakthrough in early 2013 when he won a shoutout competition held by the popular creator PewDiePie.

Jacksepticeye took multiple pauses in his standard upload schedule over the years to prioritize his mental health and combat severe burnout. In early 2021, he openly announced he was stepping back to reassess his intense workload, which sometimes consisted of uploading two heavily edited videos a day. He now maintains a slightly slower, more sustainable pace.

His very first documented video upload was a gameplay clip of the original Metal Gear Solid where he imitated Snake's voice, though his early channel featured a heavy mix of Dark Souls and action games. McLoughlin actually began making videos a year or two before officially launching the main Jacksepticeye channel. His early Happy Wheels series is often credited as his first major viral success.

While he originally filmed his early videos in a cabin in the rural Irish countryside of County Offaly, Jacksepticeye currently lives in the United Kingdom. He moved to Brighton, England, to be closer to his friends and business partners in the European YouTube gaming scene. His current studio setup is heavily upgraded from his early days in a dark Irish bedroom.
