The Japurá River, called the Caquetá River in Colombia, is a tributary of the Amazon system in northern South America. It rises in the Colombian Andes and flows east through Colombia and Brazil before joining the Solimões River, the upper course of the Amazon in Brazil. The river is about 2,820 kilometers long and drains a largely forested basin.
