description Jebel Rum Overview

Jebel Rum is a large sandstone and granite mountain in the Wadi Rum region of southern Jordan. It rises immediately west of Rum village and reaches about 1,734 meters above sea level, making it one of Jordan's highest peaks rather than the country's highest point. Its cliffs, canyons, and traditional Bedouin routes attract hikers and climbers, although many ascents require route-finding experience or guidance suited to remote desert terrain.
