Jöns Jacob Berzelius

Jöns Jacob Berzelius was a Swedish chemist who introduced the modern system of chemical notation (using letters for elements) and discovered several elements, including silicon, selenium, and thorium. He was a master of analytical chemistry and established the laws of constant proportions with great precision.
