Joubiniteuthis portieri, commonly called Joubin's squid, is a rare deep-sea squid that constitutes the monotypic family Joubiniteuthidae. It is known from a small number of specimens collected in tropical and subtropical waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, typically at bathypelagic depths. Its most distinctive features are very long, slender arms bearing numerous small suckers. The species was described by the German zoologist Georg Grimpe in 1921 and named for the French cephalopod researcher Louis Joubin.
