JVC DLA-RS640

BLU-Escent is JVC's proprietary laser diode light source technology, which allows the DLA-RS640 to achieve a remarkably high brightness of up to 3,000 lumens. This technology replaces traditional mercury lamps and offers a lifespan of roughly 20,000 hours. It also enables wider color gamut coverage and deeper black levels than standard lamp-based models.

While the DLA-RS640 accepts 8K signals and utilizes JVC's 8K e-shiftX technology to enhance detail, its physical panel resolution is native 4K. It uses dual D-ILA devices to shift the pixels diagonally to simulate an 8K image. This produces a stunningly sharp picture that looks incredibly close to a full native 8K display.

Because it utilizes a powerful BLU-Escent laser light source, it can hold its own in ambient light much better than older JVC models. However, it excels best in a light-controlled environment where its class-leading native contrast and deep black levels can truly shine. Using a high-quality ambient light rejecting (ALR) screen is highly recommended if using it in a living room.

The projector features a 2x zoom lens with a throw ratio ranging from 1.27:1 to 2.53:1. This gives you excellent flexibility for ceiling mounting in medium-to-large home theaters. The built-in motorized lens also offers wide lens shift capabilities to align the image perfectly without distorting the picture.
