Kyiv Marathon

Kyiv held its first marathon on October 16, 2010, with 546 participants from 13 countries. Only 144 runners entered the classic 42.195-kilometer marathon that year.

Organizers described the early route as one lap through Kyiv's streets and avenues, making the city itself a central part of the race experience. Later editions have changed the route design, so the one-lap description refers to the historical format.

The 2026 program lists a 42.195-kilometer marathon, a 21.0975-kilometer half marathon, 10K and 5K races, and a 1.6-kilometer mile. Relay formats are also offered.

The 2018 event reported 11,607 runners across all its distances, representing 50 countries. That figure includes the shorter races as well as the main marathon.
