The Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer, or LADEE, was a NASA robotic spacecraft launched in September 2013. It orbited the Moon to investigate the composition and structure of the extremely thin lunar exosphere and to study dust near the surface, particularly around sunrise and sunset.
