description Leo Kinnunen Overview
Leo Kinnunen was a Finnish racing driver and the first Finnish driver to start a Formula One World Championship race. In 1974 he entered several Grands Prix with the privately run AAW Racing Team and a Surtees-Ford TS16, but he qualified for only the Swedish Grand Prix. He retired there after eight laps and scored no championship points. Before Formula One, Kinnunen was associated with Porsche sports-car racing and won the Interserie title from 1971 through 1973.
