description Little Busters! Overview
As a child, Riki Naoe shut himself from the world, thanks to a diagnosis of narcolepsy following the tragic deaths of his parents. However, Riki is saved when, one fateful day, a boy named Kyousuke recruits him into a team who call themselves the Little Busters. Accompanied by Masato, Kengo, and Rin, these misfits spend their childhood fighting evil and enjoying their youth. Years pass, and even in high school, the well-knit teammates remain together.
Kyousuke decides to re-ignite the Little Busters by forming a baseball team as it will be his last school year with them. They have a problem though: there aren't enough members!
help Little Busters! FAQ
What is Riki's narcolepsy used for in Little Busters?
Riki Naoe's narcolepsy causes sudden sleep episodes and is tied to both his vulnerability and the story's larger mystery. It is not simply a recurring joke, and later revelations connect his condition to how he experiences the group's world.
Is Little Busters primarily a baseball anime?
Baseball is the activity Kyousuke uses to reunite the Little Busters and recruit new members. The series is more fundamentally a Key character drama about friendship, grief, and the individual problems faced by Riki's classmates.
What is the correct order for Little Busters and Refrain?
Watch Little Busters first, followed by Little Busters! Refrain. The EX episodes adapt additional visual-novel routes and work better after the main story has established its central secret.
Is the anime faithful to Key's visual novel?
The anime preserves the central cast, major character routes, and the Refrain storyline from Key's visual novel. J.C.Staff had to combine branching routes into a linear television narrative, so some route details receive less time than in the game.
