LL Bean Chamois Shirt

Despite the name, the shirt is constructed from a midweight cotton brushed twill fabric, not actual chamois leather. This material is highly durable, offering the soft, fuzzy feel of chamois while remaining easy to machine wash.

It is traditionally used for outdoor work because the thick brushed cotton traps body heat effectively in various conditions. It serves as an excellent midlayer in cold weather or a sturdy standalone shirt jacket in milder autumn climates.

Because it is made of 100% cotton, some minor shrinkage may occur if washed in hot water and dried on high heat. Most owners recommend washing it in cold water and hanging it to dry or using a low tumble dry setting to maintain the fit.

Traditionally, the LL Bean Chamois Shirt features a classic, relaxed fit designed to accommodate layering over base layers. However, the brand has recently introduced a 'Legend Fit' which offers a more tailored, modern silhouette.
