Loake Waverley

The Waverley is a bold royal brogue with extensive perforation and decorative punching. Its heavier detailing makes it more of a statement shoe than a restrained quarter-brogue office style.

The model is associated with Loake's 1639 last in an F fitting. That last is relatively broad and short through the toe compared with some of Loake's more elongated formal shapes.

Its Goodyear-welted construction is designed to permit refurbishment when the sole wears out. Loake itself offers a factory refurbishment service for eligible welted models.

Its pronounced broguing works naturally with tweed, flannel, corduroy, and other textured tailoring. A black polished-leather version can accompany a dark suit, while brown suede is distinctly more casual.
