Logitech C525

description Logitech C525 Overview

The Logitech C525 is a compact USB webcam capable of recording and video calling at 720p resolution. It includes autofocus, a built-in microphone, automatic light adjustment, and a folding body that can rotate for positioning or close for transport. The camera was designed for everyday computer video calls and portable use, particularly for people who needed a step above the fixed-focus cameras common in basic webcams.

help Logitech C525 FAQ

Is 720p still good enough for Zoom calls in the C525?

For casual calls it's acceptable, but the C525 caps out at 720p/30fps, well below the 1080p of Logitech's C920 and C922. People viewing you on a large screen will notice the softness compared with a modern 1080p webcam.

Does the Logitech C525 work on Macs and Chromebooks?

Yes — it's a standard UVC USB camera that plugs and plays on Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, and most Linux distributions without extra drivers. Additional Logitech camera software is optional, not required.

Can it mount on a monitor, or is it laptop-only?

The folding clip adjusts to grip laptop lids and slim monitors alike, and the body rotates a full 360 degrees to reframe your shot. It can also simply sit flat on a desk or shelf when clipped open.

Does the C525 have a privacy shutter?

No physical shutter — instead it folds flat so the lens faces inward when closed, which protects it for travel. If you want a sliding cover, Logitech's C920s includes one, or you can add an aftermarket shutter accessory.
