Luis Chiappe

Luis Chiappe is an Argentine-American paleontologist best known for his research on Mesozoic birds and the evolutionary transition from theropod dinosaurs to modern birds. He works at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, where he directs the Dinosaur Institute. He led the discovery of thousands of sauropod dinosaur eggs at the Auca Mahuevo site in Patagonia.

Luis Chiappe authored 'Glorified Dinosaurs: The Origin and Early Evolution of Birds,' published in 2007 by Wiley-Liss. The book synthesizes fossil evidence for the theropod origin of birds. It is widely cited in discussions of avian evolution.
