Marco Ardigo

Italian kart racer Marco Ardigo is a highly decorated competitor, having won the prestigious CIK-FIA World Championship multiple times, specifically in the KZ1 and KZ2 shifter kart categories. He secured his first World Championship title in 2007 and followed it up with another global victory in 2012. His sustained dominance in these gearbox classes cemented his legacy in the sport.

For the vast majority of his illustrious career, Marco Ardigo was the primary factory driver for Tony Kart, one of the most renowned chassis manufacturers in global karting. He was integral to the development and success of their flagship Racer 401 chassis, driving for their official Tony Kart Racing Team. His loyalty to the OTK (Original Tony Kart) brand made him a living legend within their organization.

Despite his immense success and unparalleled speed in karting, Marco Ardigo never made a full-time transition to open-wheel formula car racing like some of his peers. He chose to build a long, highly lucrative career remaining at the absolute pinnacle of international shifter kart racing. His focus on gearbox karts made him a specialist and a master of vehicle setup at the highest amateur-to-pro level.

During his dominant runs in the KZ1 and KZ World Championships with Tony Kart, Ardigo exclusively utilized Vortex engines, specifically the RVZ/RKE gearbox engines. Vortex is the proprietary engine brand manufactured by the OTK group, ensuring perfect synergy between his Tony Kart chassis and his powerplant. These 125cc two-stroke, six-speed engines produce around 45 horsepower and are capable of exceeding 90 mph.
