Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour

The game was developed by Camelot Software Planning, the studio famous for handling Nintendo's sports titles. It was published by Nintendo and serves as the third installment in the Mario Golf franchise. Camelot previously developed the Nintendo 64 predecessor, Mario Golf, which launched in 1999.

The game features a large roster of characters from the Mario universe, including Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser. Players can also unlock non-standard characters like Petey Piranha and a customized version of Bowser. Each character has unique stats and special abilities, such as flashy power shots that bend the rules of physics.

To unlock the Star versions of the characters, players must defeat them in the Character Match mode. These upgraded versions possess enhanced stats and longer drive distances compared to their standard counterparts. The mode becomes available after completing the introductory stages of the game.

Nintendo released the game in North America on July 28, 2003, followed by a Japanese release in September of the same year. It was designed specifically for the GameCube console. The game received positive reviews for its deep mechanics and vibrant visuals.
