Mark Eyskens is a Belgian Christian Democratic politician and economist who held several senior government posts during the late twentieth century. He served briefly as prime minister of Belgium in 1981 and later became minister of foreign affairs. Eyskens was the son of Gaston Eyskens, a former Belgian prime minister, and was active in national politics during the Cold War period and the development of European cooperation.
