description Masimo MightySat Pulse Oximeter Overview
The Masimo MightySat is a portable pulse oximeter utilizing innovative light technology to measure blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) and pulse rate. It provides continuous, non-invasive monitoring of patients’ vital signs.
This device is particularly useful for clinicians and healthcare professionals requiring accurate data during home health visits, hospital stays, or critical care situations. Its perfusion index offers an additional assessment of tissue oxygenation.
help Masimo MightySat Pulse Oximeter FAQ
What does the Masimo MightySat measure besides oxygen saturation?
All MightySat Rx variants display SpO2, pulse rate, and perfusion index. Selected versions also add Pleth Variability Index, respiration rate from the pleth waveform, and Bluetooth Low Energy.
Why is Masimo SET important when the person is moving?
Masimo SET is designed to extract pulse-oximetry readings during motion and low-perfusion conditions that can challenge conventional fingertip devices. Motion can still affect any pulse oximeter, so an unexpected result should be repeated while the hand is warm and still.
Can MightySat readings be viewed on a phone?
Bluetooth-equipped MightySat models can share parameter trends and the pleth waveform with Masimo's compatible mobile app. The basic non-Bluetooth model cannot provide that wireless app connection.
Can the MightySat diagnose low blood oxygen or replace medical care?
It reports physiological measurements, but one fingertip reading does not establish a diagnosis. Symptoms or persistently abnormal SpO2 readings require advice from a qualified clinician, and emergency symptoms should not be managed through an app alone.
