Megamind

Will Ferrell voices the titular character Megamind, with Brad Pitt as Metro Man, Tina Fey as reporter Roxanne Ritchi, and Jonah Hill as the villain-turned-superhero Tighten. David Cross also voices Minion, Megamind's loyal fish-headed henchman and companion.

A sequel titled "Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate" was released in 2024, more than a decade after the original 2010 film, along with an accompanying streaming series on Peacock. An earlier short film, "The Button of Doom," was released in 2011 as a direct-to-video companion piece.

The score for Megamind was composed by Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe, who collaborated on the film's orchestral soundtrack. The film also prominently features licensed music, including multiple songs by Elvis Presley and AC/DC's "Highway to Hell," which reinforce the comedic supervillain tone.

Megamind grossed approximately $321 million worldwide at the box office against a reported production budget of around $130 million, making it profitable but a modest performer compared to DreamWorks flagship franchises like Shrek and Kung Fu Panda. The film developed a strong cult following in the years after its release, which eventually contributed to the decision to produce the 2024 sequel.
