description Metallica - St. Anger Overview

St. Anger is Metallica's eighth studio album, released in 2003 after recording sessions that followed the departure of bassist Jason Newsted. Produced by Bob Rock, it uses a stripped-down, aggressive approach with raw production, an exposed metallic snare sound from Lars Ulrich, and no conventional guitar-solo passages on the album's original tracks. The album's creation and the band's internal conflicts were documented in the 2004 film Some Kind of Monster.
