description MetLife Building Overview

The MetLife Building is a 59-story office skyscraper at 200 Park Avenue in Manhattan, New York City. It opened in 1963 as the Pan Am Building and was renamed after MetLife acquired the naming rights in the 1980s. Built directly above Grand Central Terminal, it is notable for its large modernist form, its relationship to Midtown’s transportation infrastructure, and its continuing office use.
